They lay uneasy,
Like the undried leaves
That touched
The forest floor,
A bit too early.
Like the firefly,
That burnt out
Before night
arrived
And pulled the curtains.
They whispered...
In perhaps,
could and might..
In words
Fast burning out,
Even without a fight..
Now and then,
They opened
Eyelids heavy,
From a delirium deep..
And wavered away hope
saying...
You're dismissed!
Go back to sleep...
Like the undried leaves
That touched
The forest floor,
A bit too early.
Like the firefly,
That burnt out
Before night
arrived
And pulled the curtains.
They whispered...
In perhaps,
could and might..
In words
Fast burning out,
Even without a fight..
Now and then,
They opened
Eyelids heavy,
From a delirium deep..
And wavered away hope
saying...
You're dismissed!
Go back to sleep...
