She stood infront of the old cupboard,
So defenseless and vulnerable
To the lingering scent of the one she loved
Diving in memories of which she was robbed
And inhaled the poison insatiable.
Half closed her eyes floated on the colours,
From behind a thick veil of tears,
She could feel the intoxicating touch
Which now was a futile never-ending search
And a dead bylane to her fears.
Oh he was never coming back, she knew,
But,the scent into her soul it blew
And she, like a teetotaller with a first drink
With every moment her sanity did sink
And she clutched to her fable, now going askew.
How he called her name in his vague accent,
Entwined her tiny wrist in his huge hand
And pulled her close and whispered low,
The violins playing, their dance so slow..
Now shattered pieces, too late to mend.
She clung to the sleeves of his overcoat
Trying to feel a rythm she knew so well,
For evermore now its a lonely street
A heart too heavy, too pained to beat.
Yet chiming a fairytale which was her's to tell.
Love,she smiled,a cruel candid massacre,
A chain reaction,an obsession gone way too far,
You think you'ld keep within limits and lined
Yet it prefers a stroll fatally undefined,
One moment, eternal, yet another its a falling star.
